People like you are why racist comments are used so* much. If it didn't butthurt you so easily, it wouldn't be used.

One cannot say whatever one chooses. There are laws, at least in the U.S., against rascist behavior, of which speech qualifies.
The normal response by me would be to knock the taste out of the rascist's mouth; but, most rascists are cowards anyway. Therefore, a form of legally sanctioned action should be brought forth to address the matter (once confirmed).
Real world rascist beliefs have no place ingame, at least if we players are to remain civil (regarding out-of-game speech used ingame/on the forums). Minmatar and Ammarr "hatred" is fictitious. These "peoples" do not exist, even if having been patterned on actual groups.
Calling me a Minmatar Slave will not gain the same response from me as calling me the "N" word.
And I'll ignore such nonesense when we stop being human. As long as I am allowed to (use a reverse punch to) knock the teeth out of the mouth of the clown saying it, you can tell me I should ignore it.
Allowing this to happen will increase, not DECREASE, its use.

There is no law against a person being a racist. There is no law against someone using racist words, there ARE laws against race being used as a basis of employment/education/etc.
If as one person to another I call you a slur, there is absolutely no legal recourse that you can take.
Racist comments and beliefs are protected under the 1st Amendment. K.K.K, Black Panthers, etc are proof enough of this.
And here's a newsflash my little liberal friend, most of the "racists" you see online are not racist. They simply like to use words that they know will ignite a response. They are trolls, nothing more.
Oh, and using physical force against someone because of the words they say? Now that is petty and a clear indication of a lack of intelligence. Grow a vocab and fight words with words.
Also wanted to add: Did you know there is currently a professional sports team that's name was an incredibly offensive slur only a couple centuries ago? Do you know why that word is no longer offensive? Because the people stopped being so butthurt by its use, and started being proud of it.
tl;dr racism isn't illegal, stop being a pansy.

Firstly - I am not going to make a judgement about the alleged incident - to make an informed decision would require an investigation - however I can provide some additional information.
The servers that we ALL play the game on are based in London, UK. The UK has severe laws regards any statement regarded as racist - and such abuse as is alleged to have happened, would if the person who recieved the statement considered it to be racist, be viewed as a hate Crime. This also includes gender orientation, as well as other "minority" groups. If we take the hyperthetical situation that someone made a racist statement - then if that person is an EU citizen they could face extradition to the UK to stand trial - and these offences carry upto a jail sentence.
However if that person is outside the EU the police do have powers to arrest said person if they ever visit the UK.
CCP is not based in the UK but because the servers are based here in the event that someone does commit a "hate crime" under UK laws they could be held as an accessory to the crime being committed if they take no action. This is because they have provided the "medium" in which the crime has been committed and have taken no action to police the "communication medium" they provide.
This is why any such incident should be reported to CCP, to enable them to maintain their legal obligations and who are the only party, other than the UK Police, who are able to investigate such matters.

I feel inclined to correct a fallacy here.
Depending on the state, it's actually not allowed to use overtly racist speech. Though somewhat recent, the laws of at least Connecticut (and I believe a few other states) make it an arrestable offense to use "Hate Speech/Fighting Words". Essentially, any words spoken with the intention of eliciting violence/violent emotions are, in fact, against the law.
You have to remember that states have the right to impose higher restrictions on their populace. They cannot grant freedoms from Federal Law, but they can remove them under State Law.
So your comment about Free Speech granting you the right to racism is, depending on where you're from, fallacious.
Constitutional law trumps any other law of the nation, and no law can be made that takes it away (which is why so many gun laws are getting repealed, 2a forever!). The right to free speech may not be removed under any circumstance. Constitutional law > Federal > State > Local. That's how the BS flows.
Also what you're thinking of is assault. And yes, in some places assault by itself may be an arrestable offense (in most, afaik, its only an arrestable offense if followed by battery.. hence being charged with assault & battery).
However, it is perfectly legal to say 'i hope you die you dirty ethnic slur'. It is not legal to say 'i'm going to beat you to a pulp' that is assault. adding an ethnic slur, depending on local laws, then makes it a hate crime.
of course, if you say 'i hope you die you dirty slur', and they're found dead the next day.. well, that makes you a prime suspect, with a racist motive. sucks to be you!
